VIDEO: These (Genuine) Questions From Indians Reveal Why We Need To Start Talking About Sex

It's common knowledge that sex is rarely — if at all — openly discussed inside Indian homes. As a result, there are some pretty obscure questions that tend to anonymously reach India's leading 'sexperts' in various publications, newspapers and social media. In this video by An Indian Voice, unsuspecting individuals were asked to read out some questions posed to these sexperts in a Mumbai tabloid.

Sample this:

"I have a small penis (pronounced by most as 'pen-is', not 'peenis', which is the correct pronunciation). An astrologer has advised me to pull it everyday for 15 minutes while reciting a shloka. It doesn't help. What can I do?"

"My boyfriend says my vagina smells like fish. Please help me change this."

While the usual embarrassment, shame, and snide laughter captured in the video shows the attitude of a large number of Indians towards public discussions related to sex, it brings home a far more important point: These weird questions are the only introduction most Indian children have to the topic of sex, on accounts of it being a 'taboo' topic.

The reactions depicted in the video are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the cons of bringing up (yet another) generation ignorant or confused about sex. Watch the full video below:
