In a significant development, in the high-profile Sheena Bora murder case, the Mumbai Police have recovered the car used in the murder in April 2012.

The focus in the case has now shifted to the forensic analysis of the skeletal remains found in Raigad district where Sheena's body was allegedly dumped three years ago.

"We have sent the bones and other skeletal remains for forensic analysis and are awaiting report," a police official said.

JJ Hospital had yesterday handed over to Khar police a few bones it had received from Raigad Police in 2012.

Meanwhile, Mikhail Bora, son of Indrani Mukerjea, was moved from Bandra police station in connection with the murder case. The location has not been disclosed.

Did Indrani Try To Kill Mikhail Bora?

Mikhail Bora, brother of Sheena, told police on Friday that Indrani Mukerjea, his mother, had tried to kill him on the same day - April 24, 2012 - that she murdered Sheena. Police are now probing his claim.

During his interrogation in Mumbai yesterday, Bora said he was in Mumbai at the same hotel where Sanjeev Khanna, his mother's second husband, had checked in.

In his statement to the police, he said Indrani had called him to her Mumbai home and spiked his drink. However, he reportedly fled in time.

A police officer told Times Of India that Indrani and Khanna picked up Sheena under the pretext to buy a finger ring for her engagement from a well-known showroom in Bandra but then spiked her drink and strangulated her.

According to reports, Bora, who initially lived with Indrani Mukerjea and her husband Peter Mukerjea, met and fell in love with Rahul Mukerjea, Peter Mukerjea's son from an earlier marriage.

Why did Sanjeev Khanna help Indrani?

Last night, Sanjeev Khanna, former husband of Indrani Mukerjea, confessed to his complicity in the crime.

"We just interrogated the third accused (Khanna) and he has confessed to his complicity in the crime," Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria told reporters.

The police believe it was Indrani who persuaded Khanna to travel to Mumbai in April 2012 and participate in the murder.

Police sources told Hindustan Times that Indrani allegedly told him that if Sheena and Rahul were to get married, Vidhie would lose a substantial share of her inheritance from Peter.

Vidhie is Sanjeev and Indrani's daughter who was later adopted by Peter Mukerjea after he married Indrani in 2002.

According to the police Sanjeev may have helped Indrani because he received a windfall from her for participating in the crime, including a flat at Howrah.
