NEW DELHI — What started out as a friendly gesture on Twitter quickly escalated to a no-holds barred feud between Congress Party leader Milind Deora and Aam Aadmi Party's Somnath Bharti.
Bharti, AAP MLA from south Delhi's Malviya Nagar and ex-law minister, has been in the news lately for his very public fallout with his wife. Following the media attention on his personal affairs, Deora, a former Minister for Telecom, tweeted that the press should leave Bharti's personal life alone.
Though Bharti first responded warmly to Deora's tweet, he was left fuming after Deora gave him a backhanded compliment urging "newcomer" politicians that form most of AAP's contingent in Delhi to behave in a "civilised" manner.
The deterioration of the conversation was swift, and final.
