NEW DELHI -- Two Indians were killed and 15 injured when a crane collapsed in the Muslim holy city of Mecca of Saudi Arabia on Friday, just two weeks ahead of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
Eleven of those injured are from the Hajj Committee of India and four are from private tour operators, the External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said on Saturday.
The death toll, which has been rising since Friday night, now stands at 107, according to the Saudi Arabia's Civil Defence authority, and 238 people have been injured.
The crane reportedly collapsed near the Kabbah, the black cube, which, millions of Muslims pilgrims circle during the Hajj, every year.
