Guruprasad Kulkarni was near the L&T flyover on the Jogeshwari–Vikhroli Link Road in Mumbai when a van cut him off dangerously. Naturally he was upset and wanted to find out why.

Kulkarni wrote in a now-viral Facebook post, he stopped his car to see what the problem was and why the reckless driver had suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. He was expecting the arrogance of youth, but what he found shocked him deeply.

"As I approached that van I could see this driver guy, actually a boy merely 17-18 years old, almost in tears with one hand on wheel and other on the passenger behind who was a 5 year old child with a bleeding ankle and a rod pierced through. The driver was rushing to hospital but he couldn't drive with the child falling off the back seat," he wrote.

Apparently the child had hurt himself in the playground and his older brother put him in the van and tried to drive him to the Powai hospital.

Kulkarni did what any decent human being would do in that situation. He drove the man and his brother to the Hiranandani hospital which wasn't very far from there.

But then he remembered that his own car was parked right on the road with the keys with a traffic police. In the excitement, he has forgotten all about his own car.

To use a much-quoted phrase, what happened next restored his faith in human kindness.
