Chennai hasn't recovered fully from its worst flooding in decades and going by the wide devastation, a massive clean-up is still needed to get the city back on its feet. According to The News Minute, for the last week, TASMAC shops in Nungambakkam, Choolaimedu, Anna Nagar and Arumbakkam have been functioning from 11 AM to 10 PM.

The staff, at least, seem determined to keep the shops open.

"Even if one of the staff in the shop dies still I will open the TASMAC shop,” one told the News Minute.

And, while the prices of essential items such as torches and batteries shot up in the wake of the floods, prices didn't change for alcohol.

Many have taken to social media asking for the TASMAC shops to be shut down.
