Texas seems to have not learnt any lesson from the episode of the 'Clock boy' Ahmed Mohamed.
A Sikh teenager became a victim of a racist attack and was put behind bars after a 'bully' classmate accused him of possessing a bomb.
12-year-old Armaan Singh Sarai -- who was born and raised in Texas -- has a heart condition which doesn't allow him to participate in too many extra curricular activities. His family moved to Dallas recently, and he was having a hard time adjusting to the new environment.
On Friday, a "bully" in his class thought it would be "funny to accuse him of having a bomb".
The principal, reportedly, without any "questioning, interrogation, or notification to his parents", called the police.
The 12-year-old boy was put behind bars for three straight days and released only on Monday--15 December.
In a Facebook post, that has gone viral now, Armaan's cousin Ginee Haer has shared the incident.
"It hurts my heart and boils my blood that there are people stupid enough out there not only accusing us, but our innocent children of being terrorists! It sickens me even more that there are people even more stupid out there, taking their word for it," she writes.
This is her Facebook post:
Earlier, on September, 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed, a Texas boy, was arrested when he showed a teacher at his school his homemade clock, which the teacher feared was a bomb.
No charges were filed, but his detention provoked widespread accusations of racial profiling, sparking a larger discussion of Islam, immigration and ethnicity.
Later, President Obama invited him to the White House asking him to bring his clock with him.
But, despite all of that, racism in the US clearly isn't ending.
