Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal decided to teach by example on the first day of the odd-even road rationing plan in Delhi and his cabinet colleagues followed in his footsteps.

While Kejriwal himself car-pooled to work with Home Minister Satyendar Jain and Transport Minister Gopal Rai, other AAP leaders too took out their two-wheelers or shared a car to reach the Secretariat.

Delhi's experimental odd-even road rotation plan kicked in at 8 AM on 1 January 2016, with civil defence volunteers assisting the Traffic Police. The plan is to be implemented on an experimental basis for the next 15 days.

While AAP MLA Nitin Tyagi was seen taking an idyllic ride on his bicycle;

Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra brought out his motorcycle.

Environment Minister Imran Hussain decided to go to work in an electric rickshaw.

DTDC MD RK Garg decided to hop on a bus to take a stock of the situation.

It definitely looked like Rai had a good time taking the bus for a part of his journey, interacting with the people and the media.

As did Sandeep Kumar, Minister of SC/ST Welfare, and Women and Child Welfare, who walked to work.

But that's not all. The opposition also sportingly took a part in Delhi's struggle to keep its environment clean, with BJP MP Vijay Goel and his entourage riding bicycles to work.

So far, so good.
