Actor, comedian, musician, and now Twitter activist — Vir Das wears many hats.

On Monday, the 36-year-old entertainer was with actor and frequent collaborator Kavi Shastri in the Jet Airways lounge at Ahmedabad's Sardar Valabbhai Patel International Airport, waiting to take a flight to Mumbai. However, due to the absence of boarding announcements in the lounge, the two missed their flight.

You'd think the staff's first reaction would be to apologise profusely and offer to make it up to them. However, this happened.

In case you think Das made this up, another Twitter user supported his claim.

According to BuzzFeed India, he then tried speaking to other staff members at the lounge, only to be ignored or stonewalled.

Finally, the duty manager arrived. But Vir alleged that he wasn't helpful, and in fact, walked away when his intervention was sought.

Damn, son.

Finally, Das and Shastri had to shell out Rs 30,000 to get on the next flight to Mumbai. At this point, they got a call from a representative of the airline who offered to refund their money. This is what they had to say about it.

Update:

Jet Airways responded to Das' complaint, claiming that the lounge staff informed guests about the flight's boarding.

Das was finally mollified after he got his apology, thanks to social media.
