Netflix is finally in India, and you have surely read in recent days about the limited collection, VPN ban and the one-month free trial. Once you decide to take the plunge and bite the Netflix bait, how do you make sure you get a great viewing experience? Why watch Narcos on a 13-inch laptop screen when you can watch it on your 42 inch LED TV? Here are four easy ways to watch Netflix on your TV rather than on devices with smaller screens.

1. HDMI cable.

This is the simplest way, but involves a cable.

Most of the laptops these days come equipped with an HDMI port. Such cables enable high quality transmission of pictures and data so the output (on the TV in this case) won't suffer. Connect your HDMI cable from your laptop to your TV and voila, you are good to go. You can buy good cables from Amazon or Flipkart. Cables are never a great solution and you might have to fiddle with audio and video settings before a smooth experience is set up.

2. Chromecast.

Google's Chromecast is a cheap dongle which makes a TV 'smart'. You can just plug the Chromecast device (available on shopping websites for about Rs3,000) in your TV's HDMI port and after the initial set-up from the Chromecast app, you're good to go. The best thing about this device is that you can stream Netflix from any device while performing other tasks on that device.

Your device can act as a remote for choosing the movies or shows from the Netflix app. But it does have the downside of not being able to pause it while you receive a call. And you might face occasional hiccups while streaming.

3. Apple TV.

If you are ready to splash out more money to get a bit extra comfort of uninterrupted play and ease of using a TV remote, Netflix is compatible with Apple TV. You can also search the content through the scroll of the remote or Siri will help you out with the voice search.

4. Consoles and Smart TVs

If you own an X-Box 360 or PS3 or above you won't need any add-on devices. Netflix already allows you to stream from the apps available for these devices. You can use your controllers to surf through the content and choose from it. A similar option is available for Smart TVs from all the leading brands which has the Netflix app in their store.
