NEW DELHI -- The Delhi High Court on Friday quashed the plea filed by a former woman research analyst, who has accused environmentalist RK Pachauri of sexual harassment, to cancel the bail granted to him.
The High Court had reserved the order on February 11 after hearing arguments of lawyers representing 29-year-old woman research analyst, Pachauri, and the Delhi Police.
The Delhi Police recently chargesheeted Pachuari under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code dealing with assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty, sexual harassment, stalking, criminal intimidation and word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman.
The police have cited around 23 prosecution witnesses and several SMS texts, e-mails and WhatsApp messages exchanged between the accused and victim as evidence to support their case.
