Gujarat was put on a state of high security alert on Saturday after Pakistan's National Security Adviser (NSA) Nasir Khan Janjua informed his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval that 10 terrorists had entered the state to carry out strikes.

According to Hindustan Times, the central advisory came after reports by security forces that five fishing boats have been abandoned off the Kutch coast over a period of last three months — the latest being on Friday night.

The abandoned boat was found by a BSF patrolling team off Koteshwar coast.

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Western Command Lt Gen KJ Singh on Saturday said that the suspected terror attack would be aimed at creating 'maximum media impact' during the Shivratri festival and the ongoing Parliament session.

Now, two National Security Guard (NSG) squads have been rushed to Gujarat and are on standby.

Important monuments and pilgrimage centres like Somnath temple, Dwarka Temple, Akashardham, power plants, defence, dams like Sardar Sarovar Dam and security establishments have also been put on alert, reported ANI.
