Despite appearing in critically-acclaimed films such as Pink, Manmarziyaan, and Mulk, for some reason, Taapsee Pannu still hasn’t been invited to the ‘famous’ Koffee with Karan couch.
Although names such as Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey have made their “Koffee debuts” without having, um, any released films to their credit (they star in Johar’s next production though), Pannu apparently doesn’t cut it for Johar.
When the teaser of the Koffee finale was unveiled, Vir Das, who was present along with Kirron Kher, Mallika Dua and Malaika Arora Khan to name the winners of the current season, made a light-hearted joke.
He said, “There’s so much pink in this set that Taapsee Pannu tried to act in it.”
Pannu saw the post and wasted no time in making a nice little dig at Johar’s elitism.
She wrote:
Das tried to control the situation but ended up sounding a bit patronising.
Pannu maintained her chill.
She had made her point and was pretty nonchalant.
And Twitter firmly stood by her.
