WATCH: Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin, and Vidya Balan Will Give You Crazy Chills In First Trailer Of ‘TE3N'

The trailer of Ribhu Dasgupta’s Te3n was unveiled today. Featuring an ensemble cast in Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Vidya Balan, the film is eerily similar in vibe to Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani (2012), and to some extent, Anurag Kashyap’s Ugly (2014).

Incidentally, Ghosh is the creative producer on TE3N, which explores the conflict between an ageing man (Bachchan), a priest (Siddiqui) and a spunky woman (Balan) who’s heading the investigations of a missing girl, presumably Bachchan’s granddaughter.

The reason the film is reminiscent of Kahaani is also because the Sujoy Ghosh-directorial too featured Balan and Siddiqui and revolved around the search for a missing person.

Going by the film's trailer, Bachchan appears in top form, looking every bit an exhausted, hapless old man disillusioned with the system, but hopeful of reaching closure, while Siddiqui comes across as a man using religion to whitewash crimes of the past. Balan, being the powerhouse talent that she is, completes the interesting triangle, sounding like the voice of reason.

TE3N will mark Dasgupta’s directorial debut and is slated to open in theatres on June 10. Though the trailer doesn’t explicitly reveal it, the film is an official adaptation of the Korean thriller, Montage, whose original co-producer Woo-Taek Kim has been credited in the closing slates of this trailer.
