UPSC Results 2015: Delhi's Tina Dabi Tops Exam, Kashmir Man Comes Second

Tina Dabi, 22, from Delhi has topped thecivil services exams 2015, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission or UPSC, the results of which were announced today.

Tina is a graduate from Delhi's prestigious Lady Shri Ram College. She has passed the competitive exam in her very first attempt. "It is indeed a proud moment for me," PTI quoted her as saying.




In the second position was Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan from Jammu and Kashmir. An Indian Revenue Officer, Jasmeet Singh Sandhu, who is also from Delhi, has secured the third position.

Khan is the second person from the restive state to achieve such success, after Dr Shah Faisal, who had topped the 2009 exams.

Thousands of students appear each year for the prestigious civil services examination, through which officers for the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service and Indian Police Service, among others, are picked.

This time, 1,078 candidates have cleared the exam. They have been recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Central Services, Group 'A' and Group 'B'.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, congratulating the topper:




Khan told NDTV that it was a "dream come true" for him. "I think there is a lot of scope to fulfil the aspirations of the people from my state," he said.

"I will not leave any stone unturned to work for the betterment of people," he said, adding that he had opted for Jammu and Kashmir cadre.

Candidates can check their results, which is given in the order of merit, on the official website .
