Artist Reimagines Bollywood Actors As Avengers And It's Awesome

For every childhood hour spent fantasizing about the capers of Shaktimaan, the advent of slick, American superhero franchises were instant gratification for hardcore fans of the genre. Even though it gained wild popularity, Indian superhero series Shaktimaan came to a close in 2005. But the fandom continued with revised, reworked and visibly spiffied up versions of Batman, Captain America, Spiderman and other heroes from the Marvel and DC universe.

It's not that we have not had Bollywood actors play crime-fighting super-humans. In 2006 Krrish released to much fanfare among children. Hrithik Roshan's masked superhero -- a mix of a Grecian Superman and Zorro -- was the nearest thing to a modern Indian superhero. Shah Rukh Khan has also played one in Ra.One.

But it's always fun to imagine Indian actors in Hollywood's superhero roles. We've not had to. The people at TheGuruGhantal have done it for us.
