Irrfan Khan, who was just spotted in a blink-and-miss appearance in the trailer of Ron Howard's Inferno finally has a trailer to call his own and that too in the same week.
Nishikant Kamat, who last gave us the John Abraham-starrer Rocky Handsome is back with a political thriller. Khan plays a vengeful man disillusioned with the establishment and with a clear plan to take on the system.
He's present in almost every frame of the trailer and looks very much in his element, making the most out of a character that comes across as the solo protagonist of the film. The actor has also experimented with his looks and sports long hair, a refreshing departure.
The film also co-stars Jimmy Shergill, who plays a cop on the hunt for Khan's character, who has kidnapped the Home Minister's son.
One can only hope that the film doesn't fall in the predictable conventions of the cat-and-mouse thriller genre and has something new to offer, especially considering its socio-political context.
The film is written and co-produced by Khan's wife, Sutapa Sikdar, and is slated to open in theatres on June 10.
