CHANDIGARH -- Harkirat Singh, grandson of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh, passed away on Sunday in Chandigarh after he shot himself.
Harkirat was rushed to PGIMER hospital after he shot himself at his residence, but was declared dead shortly after arrival.
Harkirat was reportedly suffering from depression and was taking treatment for the same.
He was the sarpanch of Kotli village in Ludhiana. His brother Gurkirat Singh Kotli is an MLA from Khanna.
