WhatsApp has introduced a new feature in their latest builds. Now you can quote someone's message and write a comment on that message. This would be akin to Twitter's 'Quote' feature and Facebook's 'Share Post' feature.
Here is how it works -- when you click on any message in the conversation a reply icon will appear on the top bar. You can click that button and your message will now appear as a quote. Your comment will appear on the top and the original message will appear with the person's name and the color identifier he or she has in the group.

This feature should solve a problem that affected the flow of conversation in WhatsApp groups. Often you had to copy the text of the person who had said something in the group to reply to them. And if too many people were typing at the same time the message was often lost. The feature also notifies you if you have been quoted. So if you want to reply to that message you would know who quoted your message.
Also, if you click on the original message in "Quick Quote," you will be redirected to that message and it will be highlighted in blue color for a while.
This feature appeared first in the Android beta 2.16.118 but now it is being rolled out to all WhatsApp users in iOS and Android both.

Up until now, you could only post a video, an image or an audio clip as part of the media sharing facility. Were you to post a GIF link, it appeared as a normal link, but the new feature will enable you to embed the GIFs in the posts. It will also 'auto play' the GIFs for you.
