Supreme Court Asks Govt To Make Public List Of Corporate Defaulters, Raps It For Poor Resources At Debt Recovery Tribunals

The Supreme Court has asked the Centre to make public the list of corporate loan defaulters with outstanding loans over Rs 500 crores to public sector banks, in the next four weeks.

The court has also asked for "empiricial data" on recovery cases pending for last ten years in debt recovery tribunals (DRTs) and their appellate bodies.

A bench comprising of Chief Justice T S Thakur and Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud dismissed Reserve Bank's reservations into making the information public, TOI reported. A list comprising of 57 defaulters who owe a combined Rs 85,000 crores was submitted to the court late last year.

Coming down heavily on the Centre, the bench sought to know if the government was moving fast enough to fix basic infrastructure and manpower issues at the Debt Recovery Tribunal and debt recovery appellate tribunals (DRATs), which together decide debt recovery cases on default matters.

Despite having huge outstanding amounts at stake, most of the 34 debt recovery tribunals lack basic infrastructure and manpower and have over 70,000 pending cases related to the recovery of nearly Rs 5 lakh crores that go back over 10 years, the bench noted. Since these tribunals were established in 1993, they have resolved about 1.34 lakh cases, and helped recover Rs 70,725 crores.

It specifically asked the government whether any scientific studies have been conducted on the availability of infrastructure and "what steps the Union government intends to adopt to enhance the infrastructure of debt recovery tribunals and the appellate tribunals in terms of physical infrastructure, judicial manpower and non-judicial personnel required for the efficacious functioning of the tribunals".

Qualcomm has kicked off the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in style by launching a new flagship chipset, called Snapdragon 835. The chipset is a completely refreshed version, with a ton of new features. The company's last lead chipset, Snapdragon 821, was just a minor improvement over Snapdragon 820.

Snapdragon 835 is 27 percent faster than its predecessor and 40 percent more energy efficient. The new modem included in the chipset can support up to one gigabit speed of LTE. It also supports Google's Daydream VR standards. On the graphics front, it is 25 percent faster than Snapdragon 820, displaying 60x more colours. This will provide display makers a wider colour gamut to experiment with.

The newest entrant uses a total of eight Kryo cores, four of which are high powered cores now clocked at 2.45 GHz and the other four are power saving cores clocked at 1.9 GHz.

There are plenty of enhancements in the imaging front as well. Snapdragon 835 can support a single 32 MP camera or two 16 MP cameras. The iPhone 7 Plus, by comparison, has two 12 MP cameras. The chipset also hosts implementation for hybrid AF, hardware face detection and Electronic Image Stabilization 3.0 (EIS).

On the visuals front, there is new support introduced for Vulkan API, DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.2 and more. One of the more interesting parts of the Qualcomm chipsets of late has been the Quick Charge technology. The company has implemented the 4th iteration of this technology in Snapdragon 835. With dual channel charge Quick Charge 4.0 is 20 percent faster and 5 degrees cooler. The company claims that 5 minutes of charging will give a smartphone 5 hours of battery life.

The chip also has support for Windows 10, as Microsoft recently announced that the operating system will work on ARM processors soon. So, look forward to some Windows phones and tablets in some size. It will be up to smartphone makers to use this platform to make the best devices of 2017.

88 Million Indian Cows And Buffaloes To Get Unique Identification Numbers: Report

Since Indian citizens are being allotted a unique identification number by the government, the country's best-loved animal's turn cannot be far behind.

The Centre has embarked on an ambitious mission to fix a tag with a 12-digit number inside the ears of each of 88 million cows and buffaloes in the country, The Economic Times reported. The idea is similar to the Aadhar scheme, except, in this case, the bovines won't have to queue up to get themselves registered.

Nearly one lakh technicians, armed with tablets, have been sent out across the country since New Year's Day with the mandate to track and tag cattle so that they can be vaccinated in time, their breeding cycles can be better monitored and the quantity as well as the quality of their milk production can be improved. The intention is to bring in significant growth in the dairy sector by 2022.

The tag, which costs about ₹8 a piece, will be fixed in the middle of the earlobe of the animal and an entry will be made in a database. After each such installation, a health card would be handed over to the owner who will be alerted periodically about vaccination, deworming and breeding cycles of the animals. ET said the Centre has allocated ₹148 crore to procure tags, tag applicators, tablets and health cards.

Earlier the government had flagged off a ₹594-crore project to introduce "sexsorted semen production technology" through machines at 10 semen stations across the country. The purpose is to have six million "genetically improved" female cattle every year by 2019 to make dairy farming financially more rewarding.

DMK Passes Resolution Urging Govt To Lift Ban On Jallikattu

CHENNAI -- The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Wednesday passed a resolution urging the Centre to lift the ban on bull taming sport Jallikattu.

The resolution was passed in the DMK's general council meeting in Chennai.

Earlier in May 2014, the Supreme Court banned the practice of Jallikattu, citing animal welfare issues.

The Government of India later on 8 January, 2016, passed an order exempting Jallikattu from all performances where bulls cannot be used, effectively reversing the ban.

The Supreme Court, however, on 15 January, 2016, upheld its ban on the event, leading to protests across Tamil Nadu.

Along with that, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in its general council meeting expressed grief over the death of late Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa.

The DMK in its meeting also urged Sri Lanka to immediately release the Tamil fishermen arrested with their boats.

16 resolutions including that against demonetisation were passed in the general council meeting. The DMK urged the Centre to mitigate the hardships faced by people post the decision on 8 November last year.

India Services Activity Shrinks For Second Month In A Row After Demonetisation, Business Confidence Lowest In 11 Years

India's services industry ended 2016 on a sour note, contracting for a second month in a row in December as orders shrank amid a severe cash shortage, a private business survey showed on Wednesday.

The Nikkei/Markit Services Purchasing Managers' Index was little changed at 46.8 in December from November's 46.7. A reading below 50 indicates contraction.

A new business sub-index, an indicator of domestic and foreign demand, fell to a 39-month low of 46.0 in December from 46.7, even though firms cut prices of their goods despite input costs rising at a faster pace.

"The Indian service economy ended 2016 on a grim note, with the average PMI activity index reading for the Oct-Dec quarter the lowest since early-2014," said Pollyanna De Lima, an economist at IHS Markit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday defended his decision to withdraw high denomination bank notes from circulation in early November, as a deadline to end severe cash shortages passed with Indians still queuing at banks to deposit savings and withdraw money.

Modi abolished 500 and 1,000 rupee bills, taking out 86 percent of cash in circulation, in a bid to fight corruption. But the move has caused major disruptions in the cash-reliant economy.

Service providers continued to remain optimistic about growth in the year ahead, but the business expectations sub-index slumped to a 12-month low.

"Business confidence among service providers plunged to one of the lowest in the series' 11-year history, suggesting that an imminent rebound from the rupee-demonetisation downturn is unlikely," De Lima said.

A sister survey on Monday showed factory growth plunged into contraction last month, with the currency crackdown hurting output and new orders.

The Reserve Bank of India unexpectedly kept its key policy rate unchanged at 6.25 percent on its December 7 meeting, despite calls for action in the face of an intense cash shortage following the demonetisation drive.

The central bank has cut rates by 175 basis points since the start of 2015 but opted to wait before judging the full effects of the currency ban.

A composite PMI, which includes both manufacturing and services, fell to 47.6 in December from 49.1, its lowest in over three years.

In Manipur, the first phase of polls will be March 4, second phase will be on 8 March.

Uttar Pradesh will go to polls in seven phases. The first phase will be held on February 11. In phase two where 11 districts of UP will go to polls will be held on 15 February. He said that in Uttar Pradesh and Manipur voters lists will be published on January 12, Uttarakhand on January 10, and in Goa and Punjab on January 5.

The EC said that in places where men and women don't mingle separate booths will be set up for women.

The Election Commission tried to defend its decision of holding polls soon after Union Budget but somewhat contradicted itself in the process. Zaidi told reporters that the commission had indeed received one representation from a political party with regard to the budget.

"We are examining it and will also go through the established procedure and the commission will take a decision," he said. Later, however, he said that "all factors have been taken into account" when the polling dates were decided.

The Chief Election Commissioner also underlined that EC is a autonomous body. The Election Commission has mind of its own, he said.

"Over 160 million voters to participate in the elections in the five states," Zaidi said.

"There will be complete accountability of photo voter slips, colourful voter guides will be distributed to each family," he said.

"For the first time, every polling station will have a 'Voter Assistance' booth," he said.

The Election Commission had on Tuesday held a meeting with Chief Electoral Officers of the five poll-bound states to fine tune the arrangements.

Zaidi announced that the code of conduct was in effect and would apply to state governments and even the Centre.

The Election Commissioner said that they would also discourage behaviours that harm the environment, namely use of plastics, loudspeakers that affect people especially students.

The EC said that about 800 companies of para military will be used for elections. It said that TV Channels owned by politicians will be monitored by the media committee. Propaganda and campaigning by such TV channels to be added to expenses of candidates, he said.

Zaidi said that elections expenses will be capped at ₹28 Lakh for UP, Punjab and Uttarakhand and
₹20 lakh in Manipur and Goa. Kiosks at booths will be added to polling expenses. All transactions above Rs ₹20,000 have to be made by cheque.

Just four days after Modi Government presents its fourt Union budget, the states of Goa, Punjab and Manipur will be going to polls.

Passengers On Indian Trains Cannot Resist Stealing This Object From The Coaches

Most of us won't guess it, but numbers indicate that the most popular object to be stolen from carriages of Indian Railways trains is the humble lota — the steel mug used in the lavatories.

According to a report in The Telegraph, the Jabalpur Division of West Central Railway has lost 1,100 of the 1,800 steel mugs it had installed in train toilets over the last three months. This, after taking precautionary measures, such as chaining the mug to the wall of the bathrooms.

Previously, such mugs were provided only in a few bathrooms of AC coaches, but recently it was decided it would be allotted to all compartments. Railway officials clearly underestimated the popularity of this object among commuters.

As one of them told The Telegraph, within 36 hours, 60 new mugs went missing from a Delhi-bound train from Jabalpur. Each of these had been yanked away from the chain that was meant to keep it secure in its place.

From ceiling lights to curtains to blankets, many objects have been coveted by passengers on trains but the popularity of the lota remains bewildering.

Toilets were introduced on Indian Railways after a heart-wrenching crisis faced by a commuter in 1909. He complained to the then British Raj in a letter detailing his travails. The document is now on display at the railway museum in New Delhi. You can read the full text here.

WASHINGTON -- The US on Wednesday asked India and Pakistan to work together bilaterally to resolve any differences over the key Indus Water Treaty while skirting questions whether it would mediate between the two nations to settle the issue.

US Secretary of State John Kerry spoke to Pakistani Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar over phone on the Indus Water Treaty issue.

"I can confirm that he (Kerry) did speak on the 29th of December with Finance Minister Dar. I am not going to read that out in any great detail," State Department spokesperson John Kirby told reporters at his daily news conference.

"The Indus Waters Treaty has served, as a model for peaceful cooperation between India and Pakistan for now 50 years. We encourage, as we have in the past, India and Pakistan to work together to resolve any differences," Kirby said.

However, he refused to entertain questions on if the US has offered help to India and Pakistan resolve the issue.

"As I said, we encourage India and Pakistan to work together bilaterally to resolve their differences," he said.

"We are in regular communication with the Indian and Pakistani governments on a wide range of issues," Kirby said.

Earlier, Pakistan had sought support of the US on the implementation of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) with India even as Kerry had called for an amicable settlement of the issue between New Delhi and Islamabad.

The development came after Pakistan was irked by the World Bank pause in mediation to resolve differences over construction of two water projects by India.

Ola Introduces Carpooling On Fixed Routes, Making Rides Cheaper

Ola has introduced a new service called Share Express in its app. The new service will have taxis running on a fixed route and a rider can take a ride if the pickup and destination fall on that route. As of now, the new service has been launched in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Jaipur.

The customer will have to enter pick-up and drop points in the app, and if the route coincides with the express route, 'Share Express' option will appear in the app. The company claims that the rides are almost 30 percent cheaper than Ola Share rides, with prices as low as ₹30 on a 4-kilometre route.

"Having pioneered shared mobility in India, it is one of the key focus areas for Ola which enables far reaching benefits of reduced pollution and congestion on Indian roads," Raghuvesh Sarup, CMO at Ola said. "Ola Share is the most preferred and advanced ride-sharing offering in India today."

Right now, there are 100 express routes in the four cities where Share Express has been launched. The company plans to expand this service to 300 routes and a total of 10 cities.

"Advanced algorithms match a customer only with others who are traveling on that fixed route," Sarup explained. "With the introduction of 'Share Express', we aim to decongest the busiest routes in our busiest cities, while ensuring a quicker commute for our users."

One of the service's key features is the absence of surge pricing on these paths. Meanwhile, Ola's competitor Uber is looking to invest another $1bn in India. Ola chief Bhavish Agarwal has accused the American cab hailing service of growing its business by pumping cash instead of innovating.

A Brand New Organ Has Been Found In The Human Body

$

We are only three days into the New Year, and it's already giving us more than the whole of 2016 ever did.

In fact, every human in the world has just gained a new organ.

Scientists have confirmed that humans actually have an extra organ that has been hiding in plain sight this whole time.

This perfectly explains why we've all put on weight in the last two weeks, it was nothing to do with all that cheese after all...

J Calvin Coffey, University of Limerick said: "In the paper, which has been peer reviewed and assessed, we are now saying we have an organ in the body which hasn't been acknowledged as such to date."

The organ in question, known as the mesentery, has been reclassified as a single, continuous organ rather than the series of fragmented, separate structures it was previously believed to be.

"The anatomic description that had been laid down over 100 years of anatomy was incorrect. This organ is far from fragmented and complex. It is simply one continuous structure," Professor Coffey explained.

Located in our digestive system, the mesentery connects our intestine to our abdomen, and although the new evidence sheds light on its composition, functionality is still poorly understood.

"Now we have established anatomy and the structure. The next step is the function. If you understand the function you can identify abnormal function, and then you have disease."

Professor Coffey hopes that this reclassification could be the key to treatment of abdominal and digestive disease, meaning less invasive surgeries, fewer complications, faster patient recovery and lower costs overall.

One of the world's best-known medical textbooks, Gray's Anatomy, has now been updated to include the new discovery.

You Can Now Buy Yourself A Copy Of 'Sonam Gupta Bewafa Nahi Hai' On Amazon

The year 2016 will be remembered for a long time for PM Modi's surprise ban on ₹500 & ₹1,000 currency notes, aimed at ending India's black money menace. Amidst the ensuing chaos and the long waits outside banks and ATMs, social media still managed to find some humour in the situation.

Soon after, an old ₹10 note surfaced on the Internet with the words, 'Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai' (Sonam Gupta is unfaithful), scribbled on it in Hindi.

And the Internet lost its s**t over it.

Such was the magnitude of the trend...

Now, after the storm seems to have settled, a Twitter user brought this to our attention. Yes, a book titled, "I'm not a Betrayer".

At first glance, the book appears to be a satirical take on the meme; basically a harmless parody. But a closer read of the description reveals something more.

About the book:

My name is Sonam Gupta. You must have heard about me. Yes, I'm the one whose name you see on the currency notes. I'm the one who has flooded several Facebook timelines. And I'm also the one who is making to news headlines these days.

But, what people say about me is not true. I'm not a betrayer. If you are looking for a betrayer, it is this society, the mentality and the times we are in. I'm just another girl. A girl like anyone, who had desires, who was apple of their parents' eye and who had a dream to win the world.

Like so many, I too chose to fulfill my parents' desires. I chose a life they wanted me to live. I chose a smile on their lips, over my dreams. Does that make me a betrayer? I don't expect an answer from you. But then, I don't want you to judge me either. I want a little time of yours. Will you sit with me for a while? Will you trust me until you hear me? Will you listen to my story? If your answer to these questions is a yes, let me tell you my story.

"Sonam Gupta entered our lives on social media," wrote Vishal Bheeroo, a reader, in his review of the book. "But, Sonam Gupta is not just a name but the story of a common woman who faced the ire of a society, patriarchal in nature, pushing her to marry a stranger to fulfill vows and witnessed the massacre of her body every single night. Isn't it the story of millions of women across India?"

Meanwhile, book reviewers on Amazon India called the book, "A must read for it's a story of a woman that hits us hard in the face."

The book seems to be getting a lot of rave reviews.

A lot of them.

Dangal Box-Office: Here Are All The Records Aamir Khan's Film Has Broken So Far

Aamir Khan's wrestling-drama, Dangal, opened worldwide last Christmas (Dec 23) and the film is still running to packed houses across the country.

A biopic on wrestler Mahavir Phogat, the Nitesh Tiwari-directorial explored a nuanced father-daughter story with wrestling weaved in as an integral plot device. Sharply directed, excellently performed, and high on emotion ensured that the film was welcomed at the turnstiles with a lot of love and a fair amount of critical acclaim.

Here are just some of the (odd) records that Dangal has broken in its 12-day run.

1. It had the highest opening for any Indian film in Australia and has now become the highest-grossing Indian film is Oz.

According to veteran trade analyst Komal Nahta, Dangal earned Rs. 1.23 crore on its release day, the highest for any Hindi film.

Taran Adarsh later confirmed that Dangal has surpassed the previous record held by Khan's P.K to become the highest-grossing Indian film down under.

2. The film collected more money on Sunday (December 25) i.e the Sunday that fell on its release weekend than any other film in the history of Indian cinema. The previous record was held by Salman Khan's Sultan that had earned Rs. 39 crore on Sunday.

3. Effectively, it also broke the record for earning more money than any other film in its opening weekend (including revenue earned from dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions.)

4. According to projected numbers, it will become the fastest film to earn Rs. 300 crore at the box-office.

5. Playing in 331 screens, Dangal had the widest release for an Indian film in North America.

A report in Hollywood trade website Deadline.com said: "In North America, Dangal set a record for the biggest Bollywood opening frame ever at $4.3M over the five-day launch, with daily bumps from Wednesday through Sunday on 331 screens. The cume there with Monday factored in is $5.13M."

No Decision On Samajwadi Party's Election Symbol Yet, Says Chief Election Commissioner

NEW DELHI -- Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi on Wednesday said any question about a possible freeze on the Samajwadi Party's election symbol 'cycle' was "hypothetical" and the poll panel would examine the matter before taking any decision.

"Any query on freezing of Samajwadi Party poll symbol 'cycle' is hypothetical right now," Zaidi told reporters.

"Let us first examine the documents submitted by both the groups," Zaidi said, referring to claims by warring factions of the Samajwadi Party led by its chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Both factions of the ruling party in Uttar Pradesh have submitted their representations to the poll panel, claiming they were the "real" Samajwadi Party.

Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh met Zaidi on Monday while Akhilesh Yadav's close confidant Ram Gopal Yadav met him on Tuesday. Both staked their claim to the party's election symbol.

Our Daughters Should Take Precautions So That They Are Not Molested, Says Abu Azmi

MUMBAI -- Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi on Wednesday came forward with another sexist comment, putting the onus on girls again for their own safety and security, saying the girls should take precautions in order to save themselves from incidents of molestation and sexual exploitation.

"If my money gets robbed, I won't keep it at the same place again. I won't leave it on the police to sort it. Similarly, our daughters will have to take precautions of giving no chance to a person to be molested. This is not an insult, but words of respect," Abu Azmi told ANI.

Justifying his earlier comment regarding the Bengaluru molestation incident stating that "short dresses" were the reason behind it and that "it had to happen," Azmi said he respects women and treats every girl like his own mother and daughter.

"I am being misquoted. Nothing is above mother and mother is a woman. I can even sacrifice my life for daughters. So how can I insult women? Law is not being followed properly in the country. If a girl goes out at 12 in night, she gets kidnapped. Delhi witnessed such a big case of rape (Nirbhaya) which led to national outrage. The provision of hanging the rapist, what Islam talked about 1500 years ago, also came to being but still there seems to be no decrease in the number of crimes related to rape and molestation," he said.

"I am addressing all the women of India as my own mothers and daughters then how can I insult them? The guilty in the Bengaluru molestation incident should be caught and strictly punished," he added.

Holding once again western culture responsible for heinous crimes such as rape and molestation, Azmi said the movies produced these days show obscenity, nudity and vulgarity.

"The movies which show the kind of fashion and scenes, it would not allow any father to watch it with her daughter. The people following the Indian tradition would not be able to watch such naked movies. I have witnessed it myself. When such movies come on television, either my daughters move out of the room or somebody changes the channel," he said.

Expressing his concern for all the girls of the country Azmi said, "I just want my daughters to be safe and not be available to any molester."

Abu Azmi received wide flak over his sexist comment regarding the mass molestation incident.

"In these modern times, the more skin women show, the more they are considered fashionable. If my sister or daughter stays out beyond sunset celebrating 31 December with a man who isn't their husband or brother, that's not right," he said.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) issued summons against the minister on Tuesday, the reply of which has to be given within his five days of receiving it.

Now Mamata Is About To Protest CRPF Deployment Outside BJP Office In Kolkata

The Mamata Banerjee government is writing to the Ministry of Home Affairs protesting the sudden deployment of Central forces outside the BJP headquarters in Kolkata during Tuesday's clash between BJP and Trinamool Congress supporters.

With this, Banerjee's battle with the Centre has taken a new turn. The clashes took place on Tuesday afternoon and continued till late evening after the CBI arrested Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandopadhyay.

According to a top officer of the West Bengal government, "When Kolkata Police is in charge of law and order in the area, the CRPF deployment was overreaching, and just not done. It is totally illegal. We are writing to the MHA to inform them about this episode, and to protest it."

The officer further added that video footage of the clash between Trinamool Congress and BJP workers and supporters makes it clear that the Kolkata police personnel were "trying their best" to control the unruly group of supporters of both parties, while the CRPF personnel were just standing there without doing anything. "So what was the point in sending them there?" he asked.

BJP state president, Dilip Ghosh told HuffPost India, "I was outside Kolkata, but I kept receiving reports that our party office was under threat, our state leaders were inside, but the local police were not cooperating. They were just standing there without reacting and I feared for the safety of our men there. So I requested our national leaders to send Central forces there."

Ghosh's acknowledgement makes it all the more clear that BJP leaders in Delhi had in fact, arranged for the CRPF personnel to be deployed outside the BJP state headquarters in Kolkata. CRPF IGP Central zone, Randeep Dutta, was not available for comment, and his office said he was outside Kolkata in an official tour.

However, DG CRPF K Durga Prasad told HuffPost India, "The CRPF was never deployed there. Rahul Sinha is protected by the CRPF and we had gone to the premise to ensure his protection. As soon as our protectee was out we left the premise. It is completely wrong to say that CRPF was deployed there."

Not so long ago – in December 2016 – Mamata Banerjee took offence with the Centre on a similar issue of "encroachment" into the state's law and order affairs. She had objected to the presence of the Army at toll booths on national highways. Banerjee stayed at the secretariat office, Nabanna, all night, saying she was responsible for the welfare of the state, and could not leave office as the security of the state was under threat.

The Army exercise was to gather data on load carriers that could be used in case of contingency. But a war of words ensued between the Army and the Bengal government, with the Army sticking to the fact that the authorities had informed the state about the exercise and the Kolkata police insisting that they had denied permission for this in the area under its jurisdiction.

Banerjee has at various times, alleged about the Centre overstepping its jurisdiction on different issues. And with this new episode, the state government has just got into a fresh controversy over who should handle law and order issues when such incidents take place in the state.

NEW DELHI -- Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Nasim Zaidi on Wednesday announced a number of new measures for the upcoming assembly elections in five states.

Zaidi announced putting up of four posters at each polling station, informing the voters of locations of booths, and other Dos and Don'ts.

The posters were a statutory requirement at all polling stations, he said.

A voting assistance booth would also be kept at the polling stations.

Taking note of complaints received by the Election Commission (EC) in previous elections, the CEC announced that the height of the voting compartment would also be raised to 30 inches this time.

This was done to conceal the upper part of the body of the voters, the movement of which might giveaway the button they were pressing.

"This measure is being taken to maintain secrecy," Zaidi said.

The five states going to polls this year are Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur.
