When Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a development package of Rs. 1.25 lakh crore while campaigning in Bihar ahead of crucial assembly elections, leaders of the impoverished state should have been ecstatic. However, the method the PM chose for the announcement upset many from the state.

Modi, known for his eloquent and emotive campaign speeches, took the auctioneer's approach. "Should I sanction Rs 50,000 crores? Should I sanction Rs 60,000 crores? Should I sanction Rs 80,000 crores?" he asked a crowd roaring its approval.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Manoj Jha termed it as a 'charity auction' and said "what Bihar wanted was Bihar's right and what you have done... is absolutely demeaning the very office of the Prime Minister."

RJD chief Lalu Prasad however, chose the perfect comeback. While addressing his supporters at a rally in Patna, the veteran politician who is known as much for his goofy charm as for his political shrewdness, decided to mimick Modi's speech peppering it with comments of his own that had his followers howling with laughter.

Here, take a look.

And this.
