You may have heard of schools getting shut because of heavy rains, or too much heat, but a school in Bijnor announced a holiday for a different kind of emergency.
According to a Times Of India report, a principal at a government primary school in Bijnor dismissed class for a day and sent all the students packing home to spend some quality time with his lady love, the headmistress of another school.
The principal declared the school shut as early as 10 in the morning. Thereafter, he and his lady love locked themselves in a room.
But, not all went well.
When the children went back home three hours earlier than other days, the parents were surprised at the sudden 'holiday'. They reportedly arrived at the school to check and found the duo locked in an embrace.
The parents took the matter to the police. An FIR was registered under Section 294 of IPC, pertaining to obscene act carried out in public place, which is punishable with imprisonment for up to three months or a fine or both.
The principal and headmistress were later released on bail late Tuesday night.
"Villagers found them both on a mattress," RR Katheria, Circle officer told Times of India.
However, the Principal denied any wrongdoing.
"The charges are baseless. There is no denying the fact that the woman had come to the school. Everything else is fabricated," he said.
