Not long after the Cricket Association of Bengal dismissed reports that said Amitabh Bachchan charged Rs four crore for attending the India-Pakistan World T20 match in Kolkata, a complaint was filed against the Bollywood superstar for allegedly singing the national anthem incorrectly.

A complaint was filed on Monday at Ashok Nagar police station in New Delhi against Bachchan for allegedly incorrectly singing the the national anthem at the match venue.

According to Ulhas PR, the complainant, Bachchan’s rendition lasted one minute and 22 seconds, compared to the approximate 52 seconds duration as per the Ministry of Home Affair’s guidelines. Bachchan sang the national anthem on Saturday before the beginning of the match in the Eden Gardens.

Soon after the match, in which India beat Pakistan, reports of Bachchan charging Rs four crore for attending the event and chanting the national anthem, had surfaced.

However, former Indian captain and now the president of Cricket Association of Bengal, Saurav Ganguly, told Anandabazar Patrika that the Bollywood icon in fact spent Rs 30 lakh from his own pocket towards airfares and stay to attend the event.
