NEW DELHI -- Shortly after Alka Lamba accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of organising an attack against her while she was conducting an anti-drugs drive near Kashmere Gate, CCTV footage, which shows the Aam Aadmi Party lawmaker vandalising a shop, emerged on Sunday.
The CCTV footage shows Lamba entering a shop and pushing the billing machine off the counter.
On Sunday, Lamba was injured when a man threw at stone at her while she was conducting the anti-drugs raid. In a series of Twitter messages, Lamba said that the incident, captured by the CCTV, occurred after she was attacked.
This latest episode is is likely to aggravate the ongoing power struggle between the Delhi government and the Centre, with AAP pushing for the national capital to attain full statehood so that the ruling party has complete control over the police and appointment of officials.
On Sunday, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of engaging the Delhi police for targeting AAP leaders. Speaking at a public rally, Kejriwal said that the Delhi police had arrested three of its lawmakers in the past six months, but all 67 MPs were willing to work from Tihar jail.
"PM used to say, I won't be corrupt and I won't allow corruption," he said. "That seems to be forgotten. Now, he seems to be saying that I won't work and I won't allow anyone else to work."
Meanwhile, AAP spokesperson Sanjay Singh said that the man, who hurled a stone at Lamba, was inside the Shiv Mishthan Bhandar, which, he alleged, is owned by BJP leader O.P. Sharma.
On Monday, AAP spokesperson Ashutosh told Times Now that Lamba's actions were "natural" since she had been attacked, and he questioned whether the BJP and the police were trying to protect drug pedlars in the area.
While dubbing the incident as a pre-planned stunt orchestrated by AAP, BJP said that Sharma does not own the shop from which the stone was hurled at Lamba.

Let me ask again why Modi Police has not questioned BJP MLA O P Sharma till now ? If MLA had been AAP, would have been in jail by now.
